Transfer from Agadir-Al Massira Airport to your hotel (21 km). Depending on your arrival time, you will be free for the rest of the day. Night in AGADIR in a 4* hotel.
Departure from Agadir in the morning towards the south-east via Taliouine and Tazenakht, the first city being known for its saffron, Morocco’s red gold, and the other for its hand-woven Berber carpets. You will pass through the Tizi-n-Taghatine pass (1700 metres above sea level) in the Anti-Atlas. Meet at the commune of Aït-Ben-Haddou for dinner. Visit the of the Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, a fortified city classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its buildings made of rammed earth (a mixture of straw) have long served as filming locations (Laurence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, Jesus of Nazareth, etc.). You will cross the Oued (river) separating the new village from the Kasbah. Supper and accommodation in a Kasbah. Night in AïT-BEN-HADDOU in a 4* Kasbah.
After breakfast, head towards Ouarzazate nicknamed “The Gateway to the Desert.” Two visits to Ouarzazate are necessary. To begin, a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and its ancient city. Afterwards, you will continue with a visit to the museum of this former film centre, often compared to Hollywood. Departure along the Kasbah Route. Dinner in Skoura. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey along the foot of the High Atlas to cross the Valley of Roses. Even if the weekend of roses is celebrated in May, the pure products derived from this edible flower are available year round. Continue towards Boumalne Dadès. Supper and accommodation in a Kasbah overlooking the Dades Valley. Night in BOUMALNE DADÈS in a welcoming 4* Kasbah.
Breakfast on the terrace with panoramic view. You will then leave Boumalne Dadès to go to Erfoud, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, via Tinghir. Visit of the Todra gorges (large canyons), a holiday and mountaineering destination. Dinner halfway. Visit of the Foggara irrigation system. Visit of Erfoud’s treasure, marine fossils, some of which date back several hundred million years. Then, you will head to Merzouga to fully enjoy the atmosphere of living in the heart of the Sahara, in a typical Berber setting. Rooms with traditional Berber decoration coupled with a warm welcome from the hotelier will be waiting for you! Supper and accommodation at the hotel. Night in MERZOUGA in a 4* hotel.
After breakfast, you will start the day with an outing through the sand dunes in 4×4 to meet Gnawa nomads and musicians. You will discover an old mine as well as the Merzouga oasis and its irrigation system. Return to the hotel for dinner. Free time in the afternoon. At the end of the day, you will take a camel ride to reach the camp in the desert. You will be even more able to admire the beauty of the Sahara at a slower pace and watch the sunset. In the early morning, you will take the road back to Agdz via Rissani for a visit to its souk. Later, as you reach Agdz, you will be able to admire the change and diversity of the landscape: arid lands, small nomadic villages that seem to be established in the middle of nowhere, mountains, date palms, fields with a wide variety of crops, etc. You will be able to stop for photos throughout your journey. Dinner at Alnif. Visit of the oasis and the Kasbah of the Caïds in Tamnougalt. Continue to Agdz. Supper and accommodation in a guest house. Overnight in AGDZ in a charming 4* guest house.
In the morning, you will head towards Tiout. Tiout has one of the largest stone Kasbahs in the south of the country, which is still owned by the local Sheikh. Because of its splendid view, Jacques Becker’s French film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” was shot here in 1954. Dinner at the Kasbah. A short tour through Tiout’s palm grove on the back of a donkey. Direction Taroudant nicknamed the little Marrakech. Visit of the tannery. Visit the city in a horse-drawn carriage to better immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Medina. Supper and accommodation at the hotel. Night in AGADIR in a 4* hotel.
In the late morning, visit Agadir and the ruins of the Kasbah located at the top of the Agadir Oufella mountain. A splendid and panoramic view over the whole city and its great boulevard Mohamed V awaits you. Afterwards, you will pass through the newly rebuilt city and its districts. A photo stop is planned in front of the largest mosque. You will complete this tour with a guided tour of the great souk El Ahad. Dinner at the hotel.
